Samuel J. Meckey has considerable healthcare experience and a consistent track record of delivering exceptional results. He excels at building winning teams, creating a client-first culture, and driving innovation that meets the needs of the market.
Meckey was most recently executive vice president and Head of Healthcare at EXLService Holdings, Inc., a leading data analytics, digital operations and solutions company. During his tenure, he integrated five separate businesses into one cohesive operating unit and developed the strategic plan to double the business's size, grew revenues and net income, increased gross margin and significantly improved return on invested capital.
Prior to joining EXL, he was president of Optum Global Solutions, overseeing the company's global operations and technology services organization. There, Meckey was responsible for more than 35,000 employees in India, the Philippines, Brazil and the United States. Under his leadership, revenue and earnings significantly increased.
Before beginning his career in healthcare, Meckey was an officer and pilot in the United States Navy. He completed his undergraduate work in economics at the United States Naval Academy and earned a master's degree from Harvard Business School.

Martin Beck has extensive financial management experience. Prior to joining UpHealth Mr. Beck was a managing director and co-founder of MAT Capital, LLC. He spent a significant portion of his career as an investment banker and investor in the healthcare and industrials sectors, including with J.P. Morgan where he specialized in M&A and at Macquarie Capital where he focused on M&A and principal transactions. He also served as Managing Director of Weichai Power Co. where he led International corporate development. He holds a BA from Princeton University, a JD degree from Northwestern University and an MBA from New York University Stern School of Business.

Darren DeRosa brings a proven track record of cross-functional human resources successes spanning more than 30 years. His extensive background encompasses global human resources, business/technology operations and optimization for Fortune 500 companies across healthcare, pharmaceutical, banking/financial services, insurance and higher education industries. Prior to joining UpHealth, DeRosa served as the senior vice president of Business Optimization and People at Amplity Health. He holds a bachelor's degree from Temple University in human resources and a master's degree from the University of Pennsylvania in organization dynamics and administration.


Samantha Downing

As Vice President of Global Marketing, Samantha Downing is responsible for overseeing the UpHealth brand and global marketing strategy. With over 20 years in marketing, across multiple industries, Samantha has a proven track record of driving growth via revenue marketing. She brings deep expertise in Healthcare marketing across Payer, Provider, and government markets, with a focus on brand transformation and pipeline growth.
Prior to UpHealth, Samantha held leadership marketing roles at EXL, MedeAnalytics, and IBM Watson Health. In her early career, she managed marketing for the Rocky Mountain region of Fox Sports Net. She holds a master's in Technical Journalism from Colorado State University, and a bachelor's degree in Communications from the University of Arizona.


Lisa Fluxman

Lisa brings 20 plus years of experience in sales, marketing and executive management. She was educated in Johannesburg, South Africa and attended UNISA towards a degree in Psychology. In early 2015, after immigrating to the U.S., Lisa started a role as a Sales and Marketing Director with OnetoOne Physical Therapy and Aquatics group. She mentored and trained the sales team, and personally started and grew its marketing division. Her efforts not only increased the turnover of the company, but they also boosted the number of incoming patients. Lisa then joined Transformations Drug and Alcohol Treatment Center in 2016 as Executive Director where she was responsible for overseeing the client services divisions and developing strategies to increase revenue, services, systems and improved data collection and analysis. Lisa’s efforts and achievements at Transformations were recognized and she was promoted to her current role of President, after serving as Chief Marketing Officer and COO. Married with two children, Lisa enjoys spending time reading and learning whenever she gets the chance. She loves spending time with her family and French Bulldog puppy.


Matt Koehler

Matt Koehler is a seasoned healthcare executive with 20 years of experience in healthcare information technology, primarily focused in product management. Prior to joining UpHealth, Matt spent six years at Cambia Health Solutions, the parent company for Regence BlueCross BlueShield, leading a variety of product initiatives aimed at reimagining care management,
consumer engagement and value-based provider relationships. Matt led the team that built the new consumer digital experience that serves as the backbone for Regence’s two million members. Prior to Cambia, Matt spent three years as Vice President, Product Innovation at Surescripts where he launched the Surescripts National Record Locator product line, which now provides record locations for 320 million patients and supports 750 million document exchanges per year. Matt started his career at Kryptiq Corporation where he held a variety of product and business roles. In his last role at Kryptiq, Matt led the interoperability and network platform business and launched a 50-state immunization registry reporting solution for a top-3 Pharmacy chain. Matt holds a bachelor of sciences in electrical engineering from Oregon State University.

Livianu was most recently the General Counsel for Cutera, Inc., a leading provider of aesthetic and dermatology solutions. He holds a bachelor's degree from the University of California, San Diego in chemical engineering and a Juris Doctor degree from The George Washington University Law School.

Andy Panos’ leadership of the Martti, UpHealth’s full-service telehealth platform, and his creative sales initiatives have fueled the rapid growth of Martti into more than 2,000+ healthcare facilities. Panos created Martti and its predecessor organization more than 18 years ago. Panos’ experience in operations, business development and national marketing strategy stems from serving as partner/owner of a creative marketing firm. Andy earned a bachelor’s degree from Montana State University.


Kari Pfeiffer

Kari Pfeiffer brings 25 years of deep transformation and implementation experience across healthcare and retail industries, holding wide-ranging leadership roles in operations, strategic planning and program management.
Prior to joining UpHealth, Kari led the Program Office for EXL Health where she was responsible for developing and executing high-stakes strategic initiatives with a bias for positive results. Before EXL, Pfeiffer spent more than ten years at Optum, serving in a variety of roles across operations, transformation and population health. She has also held several technology roles at Target, driving a large guest loyalty initiative. Pfeiffer holds a bachelor's degree in Journalism and Mass Communications from South Dakota State University.

As Senior Vice President of Product at UpHealth, Leah Schelin brings 25 years of world-class experience in the field of healthcare; building, selling and operating programs that improve the way healthcare works. She has a particular passion for addressing the disparities in care access and quality that exist between population groups defined by socioeconomic characteristics including age, ethnicity, economic resources, sexual orientation and gender.
Leah was most recently senior vice president for clinical and pharmacy services at EXLService Holdings, Inc., a leading data analytics, digital operations and solutions company. During her tenure, she launched the organization's digital, and data & analytics solutions into the pharmacy benefit management (PBM) market, securing multiple new logos for the enterprise and opening an entirely new line of business.
Prior to joining EXL, Leah held several growth leadership roles in digital-first organizations including Pharmaceutical Strategies Group where she led business development for Artemetrx, a predictive analytics tool to drive decision making for health plans and employers sponsoring a drug benefit for their members. Leah also served as the general manager for GoodRx's B2B affordability solution which integrated plan sponsored insurance prices with GoodRx's discounts to direct members to the best price at the best location.
Leah is a graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles where she earned a B.A. in Psychology.


Dr. Mahesh Inder Veer Singh

Dr. Mahesh Inder Veer Singh, a noted medical doctor and healthcare management expert, is executive vice president of UpHealth International. Dr. Singh has served in a variety of roles throughout his 25-year career, including as CEO at Max Smart Hospital, New Delhi, India. Before joining UpHealth, Dr. Singh was a senior advisor at McKinsey & Company in its health management practice. At McKinsey, Dr. Singh led the provider practice implementation team in India and the southeastern Asia region where he helped clients develop end-to-end business transformation programs. Dr. Singh holds an MD degree in anesthesiology and critical care and graduated from the Armed Forces Medical College in India. He practiced medicine both as an anesthesiologist and has a critical care physician for 10 years.


Timothy Wilde

Timothy Wilde is the Chief Technology Officer at UpHealth and oversees transformation across all UpHealth solutions, enterprise analytics, enterprise cloud architecture, innovation and software development. He also leads the development of new digital solutions to solve complex health care problems across the provider-patient-payor continuum.
He is bringing together real-time insights with human in the loop digital AI technologies to allow UpHealth to see into the future and create true personalized medicine. Timothy most recently served as CTO for EXL Health where he led business transformation for the company’s clinical, payments and data and analytics clients and was responsible for an order of magnitude increase in digital health revenue, while also improving net income technology costs.
He was previously CTO of Zelis Health Care, a healthcare-focused payments platform that was acquired by Bain Capital; CIO of Luxottica Group, the world’s largest vertically integrated eyewear company that was acquired by Essilor; and Vice President at Coventry Health, a diversified national managed care company that was acquired by Aetna CVS. Timothy’s designations in computer science and business administration serve as the foundation to digitize and transform healthcare at UpHealth.


Michael Clark

Michael Clark joined UpHealth in October 2020. He has a Bachelors and Masters of Accountancy from The University of Tampa and is a Licensed Florida CPA. Michael started his career in public accounting and has provided financial support and leadership for multiple healthcare companies prior to joining UpHealth. Currently, Michael is passionate about the growth of UpHealth to allow the company to help more individuals in need.


Jay Jennings

Jay Jennings, CPA, is a seasoned accounting executive, who served as an Audit Manager at Ernst & Young and Corporate Controller for publicly-traded MetaCreations Corporation and, for more than 17 years, served as the Principal Accounting Officer for publicly-traded eHealth, Inc., a leading health insurance marketplace with a technology and service platform. In his role at eHealth, Mr. Jennings built a global finance team from five to 100 employees. He was responsible for accounting operations, revenue operations, SEC reporting, technical accounting, financial planning and analysis, business analytics, income taxes, treasury and corporate insurance/risk management programs. Mr. Jennings also managed system implementations focused on driving automation, improved analytics and cost-savings.


Dr. Avi Katz

Independent Chairman. Dr. Avi Katz, GigCapital’s Founder, Chairman and CEO, has spent more than 30 years holding international managerial and executive positions in the high-technology sector. He is a serial entrepreneur and angel investor with decades of experience working for companies of every size, from start-ups to global enterprises. Throughout his career, Katz has facilitated leadership team building, large-scale fundraising, initial and secondary public offering, the development of alliances and tech partnerships, mergers and acquisitions and almost every other facet of business and financial operations.
In addition to his work at GigCapital, Katz is also the Founding Managing Member of GigAcquistions, LLC; GigFounders, LLC; and GigNext, LLC. Previously, he bootstrapped in 2007 GigOptix / GigPeak. Inc., took the company public in 2008 (NYSE: GIG) and led its growth as Chairman, CEO and President through organic and strategic growth through rollup of 10 M&A deals during that time. He sold the company in April 2017 for $250 million all-cash to Integrated Device Technology (NASDAQ: IDT).
Katz is a graduate of the Israeli Naval Academy and holds both a bachelor of science degree, and a Ph.D. in Semiconductors Materials Engineering from the Technion, the Israeli Institute of Technology. He has authored more than 70 U.S. and international patents, has published more than 300 technical papers and is the editor of a number of technical books.

Dr. Raluca Dinu is a visionary and global business executive, offering 20 years of achievements in the high-tech industry (semiconductors, electronics, media, cloud data management, and information technology), with an established track record of driving increased revenue and profitability, building and leading cross-functional teams, delivering strong results in turnaround situations and leading strategic growth and consolidation in fast-paced business environments.
Dinu held a General Manager / Vice President position at Integrated Device Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ: IDTI), which was acquired by Renesas Electronics Corp (TSE 6723:JP) for $6.7B. She drove the transfer and integration of the team from GigPeak, Inc. (NYSE GIG) into IDT, post-acquisition of GigPeak by IDT in April 2017. Prior to this, she was Chief Operations Officer of GigPeak, leading 10 M&As prior to the acquisition by IDT.
Dinu is chair of the compliance committee as part of the board of directors of UpHealth, Inc., a digital healthcare company (NYSE: UPH), and she is also a member of the audit and compensation committees. Additionally, she is part of the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors of BigBear.ai (NYSE: BBAI), a company that operationalizes artificial intelligence and machine learning at scale through its end-to-end data analytics platform. She holds a bachelor’s degree. in physics and a Ph.D. in solid state condensed matter physics from the University of Bucharest and an Executive MBA from Stanford University. She has an audit committee certificate and compensation committee certificate from Harvard Business School, Executive Education Program.

Independent Board member and Chairman of the Audit Committee. Mark Guinan serves on the Board of Myovant Sciences as Chair of the Audit Committee and Lead Independent Director. He recently retired from Quest Diagnostics after serving as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for nine years.
From 2010 until joining Quest Diagnostics in 2013 as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Mark served as Chief Financial Officer for Hill-Rom Holdings Inc., a manufacturer and provider of medical technologies and related services for the health care industry. Previously, he had served in a number of finance and operations roles in a long career at Johnson & Johnson, where Mark served as Chief Procurement Officer, and earlier as Vice President of Pharmaceuticals Group Finance. Before that, he held a number of financial roles at Procter & Gamble.
Mark earned an MBA from The John M. Olin Graduate School of Business at Washington University, St. Louis, Mo., and a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Notre Dame.

Dr. Chirinjeev Kathuria is an Indian-American investor, businessperson and philanthropist. Dr. Kathuria co-founded several leading companies in the medical field that include American Teleradiology NightHawks, Inc., Ocean Biomedical and UpHealth. American Teleradiology NightHawks, Inc. merged with NightHawk Radiology Holdings, Inc., and the combined company went public on NASDAQ. Kathuria also co-founded Ocean Biomedical, which recently announced a malaria vaccine discovery. Kathuria ran for U.S. Senate in Illinois, becoming the first Indian-American to run for the US Senate. He received a bachelor’s degree and a medical degree from Brown University and an MBA from Stanford University.


Nathan Locke

Independent Member. Nathan Locke is a Managing Partner and Co-Head of Kayne Anderson Capital Advisors’ growth equity activities and is also a member of the Kayne Partners Investment Committee. He has spent more than a dozen years at Kayne Anderson identifying and analyzing investment opportunities in technology and tech-enabled service companies and assisting at the board level in helping those companies as they scale post investment. He has been involved with companies at various stages of growth in healthcare technology and telemedicine, media and telecom, security and compliance and supply chain and logistics. Locke has played a leading role in building a highly experienced and diverse team of 17 professionals with over 50% being females or minorities. Together, this team has invested in over 40 companies. In 2021, the Los Angeles Business Journal listed Locke as a Leader of Influence in the private equity space.
Prior to joining Kayne Anderson in 2008, Locke worked as a senior analyst on the finance team of Romney for President, Inc., and as the controller for The Commonwealth Political Action Committees. He earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Utah, where he graduated magna cum laude from the David Eccles School of Business.

Machuca is a turnaround expert, former CEO of emerging growth companies and a company founder. He served as President and CEO of Enli and in senior leadership roles at Intel Corporation, as Executive Vice President of the NEC Computer Services Division of PB-NEC Corporation and as President and Chief Operating Officer of eFusion Corporation. He currently serves on the board of public and private companies, including Umpqua Bank (UMPQ) where he serves as Chairman of the Compensation Committee and Vice Chairman of the Finance and Capital Committee and as a member of the Umpqua Executive and Nominating and Governance Committees. Machuca also serves on the Board of Cambia Health Systems, a nonprofit health care company based in Portland, Ore., and a member of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association operating six health plans across Oregon, Washington, Idaho and Utah, providing insurance to more than three million people. Among his other Board memberships are HCAP portfolio company, Saphyre, and he is an advisory board member of HCAP portfolio companies, Chordline Health and IronRod Health. Dr. Mariya Pylypiv is an accomplished executive, thought leader and strategist with demonstrated success across healthcare, technological services and financial services. She has deep experience in raising capital and corporate development. Pylypiv has served as VP, Investment Banking and Corporate Development for a nationwide professional services firm and developed global equity strategies for a quantitative machine learning hedge fund (AUM $350 million peak assets). Pylypiv received her Ph.D. from Purdue University with a focus on behavioral finance. She holds a master’s degree in accounting and international economics from Ternopil Academy of National Economy, a bachelor’s degree in accounting and international economics from Ternopil Academy of National Economy, and serves on several advisory boards for digital health, wellness and investment markets.


Agnes Rey-Giraud

Independent Member. Agnès Rey-Giraud is chairman and CEO of Acera Surgical, Inc., which she co-founded in 2013. Acera Surgical has engineered a new class of resorbable synthetic hybrid-scale fiber matrices designed to restore damaged tissue. The proven healing power of Acera’s surgical matrices provide relief to patients who suffer from surgical wounds, trauma, burns, and chronic wounds, among other indications. Rey-Giraud played an essential role in devising Acera’s initial strategy, recruiting the company’s first leadership team and securing the financial backing to bring revolutionary concepts from the lab to the operating room.
She was previously an officer at Express Scripts (NASDAQ : ESRX), a Fortune 100 company, where she served in multiple executive roles of increasing responsibility, including executive vice president of product development, supply chain, corporate strategy and president of international operations.
Rey-Giraud currently serves as a member of board of directors at UpHealth and chairs the compensation committee chair. She also serves on the board of GoodRx (NASDAQ : GDRX), a role she has held since 2016. She has served on numerous boards of directors, including RxHub (now SureScripts), a healthcare technology services company, from its design and creation in 2000 to 2006. During this period, RxHub transformed from a business plan to a service and technology platform, facilitating the creation of communication standards and the adoption of electronic prescribing in the US that are now the common standard in the country.
Her other board roles have included Pritikin, a wellness company, and HD Smith, a privately owned drug wholesale distributor.
Rey-Giraud is a cancer survivor who credits a clinical trial with her life-saving treatment. She has since become an advocate for breast cancer awareness and affordable health care, especially for patients diagnosed with debilitating or terminal illness.
She holds an MBA from the University of Chicago, a master of management in operations from Ecole de Management de Lyon Business School, one of France’s leading universities, and a master’s degree in engineering, also earned in France. She has earned certifications in board service from Northwestern University and Harvard University.
She and her wife live in Colorado where they enjoy hiking, biking and the magnificence of wildlife and the outdoors.
